RE: No good deed goes unpunished.

Tom, You might try Pat's RV Carpet in Buena Park 800-670-7287. I don't have any first hand experience with them. They have an ad in the Highways magazine and have been there for years. I think there is another company in the Riverside area but don't remember the name.

RE: No good deed goes unpunished.

The header on your post caught my attention. This has been my moto for years and have never been disappointed.

RE: Tell me about dogs and California beaches...

Pismo Beach allows dogs on leash. You can walk from the pier in town south to the state beach where they allow vehicles. Nice flat beach , great for walking.

RE: Boy!! Did I goof or what?

You have just joined the largest anonymous group on this form. Who hasn't left the e-brake on (me), left it in gear, forgot to disengage the drive shaft, unlock the steering wheel and etc. I have finally got such a rigid routine for hookup even a "senior moment" doesn't get in the way.

RE: How to handle non-RV family that want to borrow your MH?

WE use our MH a lot, have so much personal stuff, food, clothes and etc. there would be no room for anyone else to store their stuff. After looking at the amount of stuff we carry (filled the garage when we moved out of the TT into the MH) it just wouldn't work out. Some of the equipment would be hard to teach someone else how to operate even if they were interested in listening.

RE: Faulty dipstick question Ford V10

I have the tee handle. What I did was drained the oil and changed the filter, added 5 qts, ran the engine for a few minutes, let it sit and marked the dip stick, added the 6th qt, ran the engine again for a few minutes and let it sit. Removed the stick and marked at the new level, now I have a new full mark and one for a qt low. This is only for guys that are too cheap to buy the right dip stick!!

RE: Brake Buddy Vantage

As a former distributor for BB under the old company, KEEP THE CLASSIC. They were for the most part trouble free. I personally have never subscribed to the proportional idea for toad brakes, a position the old owners held.

RE: Looks Like Another SCAM to Me

I would reply that your bank requires 45 days to clear the check, then hold your breath waiting for the answer!!

RE: leveling

I level with the blocks under the wheels, put blocks under the jacks as needed for fine tuning. Don't leave the (front) wheels hanging, don't care for the rocking your talking about.

RE: Do your own Brake repairs?

I do the brake fluid flush and lube the slide pins every two years. That's about as far as I want to go, beyond that is more than I can handle.

RE: New 35 Foot Gas With King Bed?

I would check with Rexhall just down the road from you in Lancaster. I think most of their models offer king size beds.

RE: Changing the u-joints on a Ford F-53 chassie

I'm with swagman, seeing a grease track is not that unusual, it's hard not to over grease sometimes. If you are going to do the job check for a local driveline shop. They can change the u-joints and check the balance at the same time. Your local truck repair or trans shop should be able to give you a good recommendation.

RE: Covers for Class A Motorhome

SAS, I've had an ADCO Sunbella for over five years, nice cover. IMHO I would spend the extra money for a custom fit with the zipper door over the universal. ADCO has the pattern for most models.

RE: Out 1st real trip please help/advise

We've done that trip a couple of times. I agree with the grizzly RV park. Go see the wolf display around feeding time. We like to make our first stop at Circus Circus KOA, pricey but need our Steakhouse porterhouse. From there St. George and some others I can't remember to Salt Lake City. We used the GS Campground guide and were pleased with all the CG we used. It's a fun trip, you'll enjoy it.

RE: Is it me being dense, Transmission question...happy ending

ross.b, Find a independent trans shop, having worked with the ATRA group for many years, that's a good place to start. Check your yellow pages for the ATRA logo.

RE: Generator fuel line

Always Stuck, The dealer charged me just over $500. to do mine. He said he did several a month, nice money!!

RE: Generator fuel line

Had to replace my gen fuel line last year. Had the Ford dealer do it, too big a job for me, rear jack bracket had to come down also. As a side note, check the fuel fill hose. Just replaced mine, 60" of flex 1 1/2" hose. Cracked so bad I was losing fuel, even turned the "service engine soon" light on.

RE: Pressure Washer for Washing Motorhome

I rinse the loose dirt off with a hose and soft water. Use a long handle brush and Gel-Gloss wash&wax to scrub it down. Rinse with a PW (1300) on fan spray run thru a deionizer tank. Shines like a new wax job and no water spots or hand drying, just let her drip dry. Even with the soft water I would get water spots, no more.

RE: Need service in Orange Cty. Ca

I would recommend Fleet Services in Anaheim. 3550 E. Mira Loma Ave. @ Tustin Ave. 714-630-4213. They are a truck place but lately see just about as many MH as trucks.
